JL Clean Sweep
This is the first car I'm considering changing out the stock speakers, buying an amp, but leaving the stock headunit. I am quite picky though and wanted to know if products such as the JL Clean Sweep really do sound just as "clean" as a high quality aftermarket headunit?
Has anyone changed out the components/added an amp and one of these? If so are you happy? My last car had Memphis Pro components and the one before that Boston Acoustics Pro Series (not to be confused with the BA stockers) and I miss the clarity.

the JL cleansweep is awesome, but use it with the signal summing interface also. Makes a huge difference. I am going to have a true SQ competition car with the factory head unit. But i will be switching out the JL audio pieces once the JBL MS-8 interface comes out, it auto does speaker distances, EQ, Frequency adjustments etc to make it the perfect in-car SQ system.. Google the MS-8 should be out in June.
then i will say bye bye to my JL stuff.

Hey, sorry I didn't see your 1st post. When I first got my Camaro, I replaced the front speakers. Still not enough bass. So then we decided to add and amp replace the 6x9's and add JL audios stealthbox with their 12 in sub. Because of the way the stock 6x9's are crosswired for bass, we also added the clean sweep to "detune" the factory stereo. I must say, with this setup, it sounds like an aftermarket setup. My only complaint is that I now have two controls for volume. It works optimally if I set the factory volume to about 15 then control the clean sweep volume to do fine adjustments. However, if I want a minimal volume I have to lower the factory volume to about 10-12 for everything to be balanced. It really is Awesome and better than I ever thought the stock stereo was capable of sounding, and now I'm pretty used to adjusting it with the two volume controls. IMHO this minor inconvenience is definitely worth the quality of sound I'm getting!

Wow shows how much I know, I didn't realize the Clean Sweep had volume control I thought it was just a signal processor that cleans up the crappy stock headunit's signal going out to the speakers/factory amps. I could see that being annoying b/c you basically lose steering wheel controls for VOL?
