Just trying to ft a tally on how many convertible.orders dropped status today? (1/13/11)

I particularily dropped from 3400-3000.

Hopefully answers soon!

Same problem here. I wonder if this means they are having production problems. My dealer warned me that with new models they often find "parts" that don't meet quality guidelines and they have to slow or hault production.

11/27/2010 - (1100) Order Placed at Dealership Order passed GM edit tables but dealers has not received allocation to place order
11/27/2010 - (1102) Order Entered via Web
12/06/2010 - (2000) Order Accepted by GM Dealer used allocation to place order into production
12/07/2010 - (2500) Order Preferenced Order pulled to the production system
12/08/2010 - (3000) Order accepted by production control. Parts being ordered and production process is underway.
12/18/2010 - (3100) Order available to sequence.
12/18/2010 - (3300) Order Scheduled for Production Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle
01/04/2011 - (3400) Order Broadcast (Internal Plant Paperwork Order Produced) Order is sent to various build & supplier areas to bring order together
01/12/2011 - (3000) Order accepted by production control. Parts being ordered and production process is underway.

[I was thinking something similar- defect or recall perhaps pulled the cars off the line. That's why I started this thread- curious how many got dropped, and if there's a correlation to trim level, accessories etc... called GM, haven't heard anything back yet.

I was told by my dealer that production will be starting Feb 3. not sure how accurate the info is. If anyone hears anything different please post.

There's a few ppl who have received VIN #s and status updates in the 4000s this week, so they are being produced... Ive thought of a few things behind the delay, but.its just speculation - #1; are the Nieman Marcus and Pace car editions backing up standard customer production or 2: was there an issue that was discovered during the first run that caused production to be stopped, corrected the issue, and started back up. Meanwhile the initial cars were repaired and getting ready to get shipped... just my thoughts.

Very surprised though that no difinitive word has come out as to why the delay.

I had noticed that some VIN's have been posted so I figured my dealer was wrong. I know that when MotorTrend tested the convertible there was a couple of leaks in the top at the front windshield and the back window dislodged so maybe that's why production halted so they could address those issues. So far mine has changed and I hope it doesn't.
