Road trips

It's 7:27 AM on the east coast

Getting ready to head to St. Augustine for a week, taking the Camaro for it's first beach run, and I'll be putting about a 1,000 miles on it over the next week.

Excited to let her stretch her legs on a good long journey and chew up some miles.

What's the longest trip you've been on in your 5th gen? How did it go?

Went from the Inland Empire in CA to Phoenix on a business trip a few back. Was a lot of fun and the ride took it like a champ. No issues or hesitation in that 120 degree weather. You'll be just fine.

Longest so far is about 500 miles down to Kentucky last summer, with limited storage space and an infant we were hesitant to go farther so we stuck to day trips for the first year.

This year we're taking it to the Smoky Mountains just to drive around and maybe do some light hiking. 1000 miles round trip with probably another 1000 or so while we're there. Building up to a Key West trip eventually, probably next year.

3,000 miles for camaro5fest #1 back in 2010: Ct to Valdosta Ga then onto The Villages Fl, then to South Florida and back.
Great road trip in my SS back when these Camaros were few and far between.
I'm still enjoying this car 6 years and 38,000 miles later.

Back in 2009 I drove to Ft. Pierce, FL. Then to Longview, TX and back to FL and the home. I put 4200 miles on it that trip. It now has 46K miles on it.

I go from Phoenix, AZ to Orange County, CA and back every few months just to relax. It's a 5 hour drive and I don't stop at all.

8000 miles from WI to Montana Utah Colorado Arizona Texas and back around to Wisconsin in two weeks. Averaged 23.8 MPG. Not bad for being super charged.

Florida to Utah last August for the Bonneville Speed Weeks. The event was cancelled about an hour before we arrived due to heavy rain. About 6,000 miles total. We're going to try again this year. Going through the Rockies with the top down was worth it!
