noise/squeak/rattle/ticking
My o 10 is making strange noises. When I coast or apply gas without speed, I get an awful ticking noise that seems to follow the speed of the wheels. But it does not make the noise upon acceleration; only during coasting, slowing down (whether applying the brakes or not) or at even speed.
The second noise is akin to a whistling or chirping sound. Again only seems to occur during deceleration, coasting or applying the gas evenly. Anyone have any ideas what is going on? This just started in the last 1,000 miles at 10k. |

Mine also ticks I can hear the inectors ticking. And if the exhaust gets hot you can here the metal expanding poping noises loud enough to hear while stopped. Maybe your car is hungry and wants to eat more mustangs.

I heard this exact thing this morning on the way to work at 530 am with no other cars on the road..Had the window down coffee in one hand and heard this whistling type sound coming from either the rear or front left tire/brake area, i almost spilt my coffee every where because this car is brand friggin new 2011 2ss rs! has only 2500 miles what could this be and its only at about 20-45 mph then when im cruising on the highway and decelerating the brakes make this obnoxious noise!

Is your window down when you hear the "chirping/whistling" sound? If so, it's the wind whistling between the side mirror and door. This usually happens between 30-45 mph. If you put your hand in the gap between the mirror and door the whistling will stop. Maybe you only notice the noise when you decelerate because the acceleration exhaust noise overpowers the whistling.
