Issues with DI engines?

Another forum I belong to is reporting bore scoring and rod bearing wear issues caused by cylinder pressure in DI engines. I gather this causes pre-ignition and requires different oil to combat it. According to the engineering firm working on these issues, it has occurred in some LS engines.

I am curious if anyone has heard of this in the LSA engine?

LS and LSA are port injection, not DI.

Thanks. That's a relief.
