anyone getting chips like this?

both fenders behind the front tires and my gills look this way. looks sandblasted at 27k miles, body shop said its definitely chips and not something I drove through. I never saw them until I was on the ground eye level with them

Based on the pattern and if it is both sides, I would say it had to have come from the road. Look at the concentration along the edge.

Mine has a few chips in the gill area only on both sides. I never drive on gravel or dirt. Minor at this point with 9k miles.

I think on the pavement you still pick up the occasional rock. look at your windshields.

By the 1000's my man. Both sides of my car are peppered. I didn't get on here and read about rock guards and clear bra until I'd had my car for about 8 months of daily driving. Oh well.

And I don't off road or gravel drive my car, it's all pavement. As far as DJR, your car is white, maybe if or when the come they won't show.

That one chick, not a ZL1, said she used Dr. Colorchip all over her gills and she had pics under the general discussions, although I'm sure it got moved, but the before was like your, and the after looked really good. A good bit of elbow grease was certainly involved too.

Very common. The fender area in front of the rear wheels flares out, and because of this the part of the fender is first in line for all of the road debris that gets kicked out from the front tires.

Trailblazers were especially prone to this problem. I have clear plastic chip protectors on the areas of the rear fenders that flare out on my truck (bulge).

This is a disadvantage of the curvy design that some manufacturers use for their cars. Porsche 911's have a similar problem with this as well.

Rock guards and clear bra help this car with these sticky tires that sand blast your 1/4's

I got these chips after a 2 minute drive in the winter of 2010. They lay red lava rock on the roads for ice. This was the result.
