Warning: Disturbing Images
Some with garage-queens will be horrified, others will recognize these images as simply the sign of a great road-trip that I returned from a few weeks ago.
2716 miles door-to-door, 6 days. Mostly backroads from Colorado thru Utah to Idaho to Western Montana, back to Idaho thru Utah back home. Whew. Wife-unit, myself and another couple were scheduled for a trip to Iceland, but apparently we're not welcome there as potential COVID infested Americans. Not to be undaunted, we headed out with full tanks and a mask. the other couple owns a C7 Z06. Good times! Observations: No tickets - knock on wood. Of course, we were doing the speed limit, so why would we get tickets? Camaro was an awesome road trip car, IMHO. Lots of room - took stuff I didn't even need. Zero issues with the car, unless you count the chipped windshield from a rogue rock. $40 later that was fixed. Car stereo still sucks. Gotta fix that... Engine sounded great. Car was mostly ignored in immediate favor of the 'vette. Occasionally someone would notice the rare N/A beast. Kids liked it for sure. Other Corvettes seen along the way - a bunch. I saw no other Z/28's on the trip. Took turns driving the cars. Corvette was a beast for sure - fantastic machine. Perhaps a few too many gadgets to navigate - I'd have to study for a few weeks to get to all the menus and features that thing has. I wasn't a fan of the clutch in that car - seems hard to get the thing going smoothly. I still like the Z/28. 18.9 MPG if you can believe the computer. Z/28 did not need to stop any more than the Corvette did, and when we did gas up we differed by a couple of tenths only. Used about 1/2 qt. of oil. Trump signs - about a million. Saw one sign for that other guy. People were awesome along the way, especially the more rural we got. Saw all kinds of cool stuff, none of it involving anything you'd see by staying locked up in your house. Land of the Free - Home of the Brave, people! Go visit this fine country and bring a mask. You'll probably survive. The bugs washed off. A few more pics: Craters of the Moon: Snake River in Idaho - had to stop to check out the failed launch site of Evel Knievel: |

Congrats on the road trip and I’m with you on the fact that more people need to get out of their basements and enjoy their life. This virus is just a risk like everything else in life.

I was once told that a car is like a woman , if you don’t put the miles on it then some other guy will.
Looked like a blast

Amazing, bet it was nice to disconnect from all forms of media and just live.
From everything I read about the suspension, I was expecting my buddy’s slammed ‘99 Civic SI concussion machine. It’s far from that. May need to plan a trip soon - thanks for the motivation. |

That is awesome! The first week I owned my Camaro I left for a road trip. I love seeing bugs splattered like that, it means the car is getting used.

I use this on all trips, saves on chips and them nasty bugs that seem to embed themselves in the paint!

Nice trip! That is what the front of our cars look like every March at the track from bees that come out to play and don't fare well!
