What is your SS winter tire/rim setup?

What are you going to be running on your SS this winter and what was the cost?

TIA

Luckily here in NC, the weather isn't inclement very often. So fortunately I can run my stock wheels and tires year round.

If I had my choice I would spend all of my winters in Mooresville NC but your government won't allow that.

I was using Blizzak LM-25 225/60/18. The smallest wheel for the SS brembo brakes.

From Tirerack.

No garage queen for me. I can't stand not driving my SS. Last winter I took it out on sunny days when the roads were dry- Even if I had nowhere to go. The P/Zeros are terrible in the cold so this fall I'm getting Continental all season tires. I hear they are the best, and have the best "quiet" rating.

Mine's not a daily driver, but i switch to an extra set of original 20" wheels (takeoffs bought from Chev dlr.) with Yokahama Paredo All-Season in the original sizes. Great ride and good in snow, ice, rain. Seem to wear well too --- wouldn't be bad as an all year tire --- if you don't need a "competition tire".

We need the rim manufacturer and model of the rims you bought. Right now Tirerack says 19ers are the ones to get.

Thanks -Al

I just bought another set of wheels/tires from a friend here who got 21" wheels/tires when he bought the car, and they are the 20" rims with the PZeros. So, I'll have those as summer tires.

After putting on 20000 miles, my treads are low, so I'm replacing those with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS for this winter. I'm waiting for those to be delivered, and will be driving those soon.

I'm in Seattle, so we may get a little snow each year, but usually only for a day or two. I'll have my Impala for those days. Reading up on the Continentals, they sound like they'd handle the snow fine, but I'm more worried about other drivers.
