Question Found Something Weird on One of My Stock Rims

Does anyone have something like this / know what it is?

On the front driver side rim, it looks like someone scraped off the weights that came on the rim, then attatched a different sort of weight, labeled "60 g". The owner of the dealership I bought from told me someone at the factory probably did this when balancing the wheel.

?

Turns out that same wheel also has a faulty tire sensor, which is why I had a "service tire moniter system" message since day 2 of ownership. Currently waiting on a new sensor from GM.

You got this car new? It's hard to see if its adhesive or actually scratched. If it’s scratched make them replace the whole rim. Do not let them repaint, I had a really hard time with two RS wheels being repainted. Long story short they got a complete set of new rims to solve my issues.

Yeah I bought it new. I'd have to put up a fight for a new rim no doubt, I dont think its worth it though; if the new sensor works fine then Ill live with it.

thats just tape weight residue. No big deal wow guys they probably had to move the weight a little bit to get a perfect balance. Happens all the time.

Me too...Its weird cuz i have a ABM camaro too...The dealership just replaced my two front rims cuz after the repaint they didn't seem to match that well and i was pissed off that they scratched/dented up my rim when i was in for an oil change...

Actually the fight for a new rim is not hard at all...i just sent in an email to the service manager and he contacted me back and told me to bring in my car and they would replace the two wheels since i wasn't satisfied with they way they were repainted...from the pic its seems like there was an issue with your rim after it left the factory and before you picked your car up ( like damaged getting of the truck or something) so the service shop repainted and rebalanced your rim before selling it to you hoping you wouldn't notice.
