Which short tube header?

I was thinking JBA but have heard the flange has a high rate of failure sealing properly. http://www.************.com/jbashhe20cav.html

Which brand is working for you with no CEL (including part number please).?????

Doug Thorley, welds up to cat pipe and no cel.sounds good and noticeable low end torque of idle. Engine compartment now as the famous, hollow, tinny header sound! car is quicker and sounds better, actually made car a bit more quite at low speed around town with cat back which worked well for me to help get rid of cabin drone of which I still had a bit.

I ahve 1500 miles on mine with no CEL. My drone went down also. The tone seems to be a bit mellower. (is that a word?)

Ivan@Southwestspeed had a great deal on the Doug Thorley Shorty Headers a few weeks ago. Send him a PM and ask if he has any more in stock and what kind of deal he can swing for you.

Personally, I'm loving mine. I'm breaking in the shorty headers and a catback exhaust; so, my drone is still there after about 500 miles. It's definitely become more smooth, mellow and quiet over time, though, and the increase in power is noticeable. I also seem to have gained a couple of MPG in the process.

Yeah, I have about 400 on mine but seems drone is with all catbacks to some degree from what I am reading. Its nice the D/T's reduce the sound at low rpm cruise around town but seems the same at 65 which is o.k., I have about that much on my 98 z28 with shorty's and magnaflow catback so maybe more performance sound from a free flowing unit vs stock then drone.
If drone still bugs try the magnaflow resonated x pipe . It reduced drone alot and made sound deeper and more smooth. Also allegedly helps bottom/mid range torque.

Anyone else getting better MPG? I commute 100 miles a day and have noticed a 1.2 MPH increase since the headers. I thouhgt I was the only one?

Just to clarify, I would say the drone I get is very very tolerable. It's a little louder under load, such as when going up a hill.

Same here, more under light load uphill. Freeway is fine, no drone just exhaust note from back of car. The headers did help alot at low rpm town driving but before with just mufflers need x pipe to tame the drone to livable levels.
