could the z28 be like the zr1?

i was reading on the camaro z28 spy shots and i thought : hey what if the camaro was going to look like the zr1?

what im saying is that what if the z28 had the little glass window to show off the lsa motor it has and then maybe have bbs rims like the zr1 and then give it a more performance like look.

but this was just a thought.

Ya know, I thought that window was going to be cool on the ZR1. Then I watched the Top Gear episode where they were in America and Jeremy was driving the ZR1. He pointed out that Ferrari uses the window to show off their engine, which is pretty much shown with no covers or garnishes. He called "a thing of beauty" if I recall. Then he pointed out that the ZR1 window showed a plastic engine cover. I have to say, he has a point! There's really nothing to see that's worth the effort of goofing up the hood with a window IMHO. It pretty much destroys the natural flow of the car and in my book is the cheesiest thing on the ZR1. I hope they only offer it as an option if they do it. I wouldn't want a window on my hood personally.

not really, if you look through the glass you see the intercooler that says "LS9 supercharged" and the only plastic is the blue peice with the corvettes mascot jake.

Interesting .. I too thought it was a full cover .. From below you can see how it goes together though .. I wonder what the center piece is made of?

Seems to be similar with the LSA as well :

So they made a window to see an intercooler with some plastic around it then. My mistake. I'd still rather have a hood with no window. Now, if it was a chromed out 6.2 liter engine with all kinds of manifolds and so forth visible, then I'd be all over it. Maybe even if they weren't chromed.

Meh. I think it'd be cool, but I'd rather put that money in the the chassis/suspension/powertrain There is not an engine I can think of (expect the LT-5) that looks anything close to the eye candy the exotics polish their engines to. LS9's SC doesn't look bad, but it's not like looking at many of the other ones out there.

Save the $$$ and put it where it needs to go to put a hurtin' to the competition

No... the Z28... it's like the Z06 of the Corvette....

if they ever make a ZL1 Camaro.. then that can be like a ZR1 Corvette.

The center-piece is some kind of metal. Aluminum maybe? I'll see if I can go to my parents' house this weekend and investigate further.

PS: the hole in the hood is good for more than showing the supercharger! Pops messing around:

In a perfect world the Z28 would go after the Boss.

Although when I think ZR1 I would want that to go after the Cobra Jet, and Super Cobra Jet mustangs.
