Local muffler shop in R.I.....
That will do a muffler delete without robbing me. Been to 2 different midas's and they wanted 160 bucks!! I see all sorts of people paying 60-80 bucks for muffler delete and straight pipes. Guy said he'd have to fab an S pipe so it'll cost more?? any advice??

I went to hartford muffler and brake in Johnston to have my trucks exhaust done. His work is very good. $160 doesn't seem to out of the ball park though. When I had them do my custom exhaust they used 2 peices of stainless tubing and each was about $160. So if they used 1 with the labor I could say it's justifyable. Maybe the others went with cheaper steel?

Takes probly 2 hr's to do so the $160 isn't bad.
If you think about it, you just spent $30k + on the car. Do you really want $5 work? |

Yeah I get it. In the long run it's still way cheaper than any catback. I was just curious and wanted to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off as I've seen many of threads where peeps are paying 60-80 bucks.

Do it yourself then, get some bends and pipe of summit and do it low carbon steel, then get some nice tips. Bet you could do it for $100 bucks and better quality than the hacks at midas.
slp LM1 is less than $400, its SST and has nice tips and hardware....its basically a muffler delete. Ken

I don't see how people are paying $60-80 unless they have a friend doing them a favor, or they are in REALLY good with their local Midas. I would think $160 is a damm good price.
