I am looking into getting a sinister hood for my ss befor I do the stripes again ( wish full thinking ) but I called my body shop and asked for a quote on paint to match it to the black of the camaro and clear it. They quoted me $650 for paint clear and install is this reasonable I have no idea due to the last thing I had painted was a emblem for $50 lol

Well... with painters, you can sometimes get what you pay for. It is more than just price.

I think this seems fair. For a new hood, they'll have to paint the whole thing - not just the top.

Drop by a few body shops, not just one. To repair a penciltip size chip I got estimates from 525 (done for 450 if u got cash) up to almost 900. Try the old guys who work on hot rods in the small cheezy shop on the other side of the tracks. He might surprise you.
