No more rumors - With the number of calls, pm's and emails I got - I got an answer you can call FACT! (Thanks John!)
![]() Scott: You can post the following.. I understand the concern with missing the opportunity to change orders, but rest assured it will be late January to early February before we start requesting orders for production, and even when we start the initial number of orders will be a small amount. For most orders, changes will be accepted well into February or March. Thanks John Fitzpatrick Marketing Manager - Camaro |

Hello!

Hrmmm...small amounts huh?
Sounds like a slow process is ahead of us guys! I was hoping to take delivery by the end of March 2009...that may well have been a pipe dream! |

Well, I guess that's good news for those still waiting to see what CGM looks like on a Camaro...

Happy, Happy, Happy.... This means there is still plenty of time to get a fix in place for the rally stripe issue. Thanks to John and to Scott for facilitating the answer!

Not surprising. I don't see anything to be alarmed over here. There won't be many cars built in February as it doesn't start til the 16th and they will start of slow and ramp up over time to full speed. In fact, it seems like he's saying most orders will be produced in Feb-March so that may be even faster than I was thinking. My understanding is that the order can be changed up through the week before it's actually built. But maybe there's something I'm missing as he mentions orders will begin being locked in in January? Maybe production is starting earlier than previously announced?

Personally I knew that wasn't going to happen. The March delivery estimation was based on full speed production from day one but GM even said a long time ago that it will start off slow and ramp up and the ramping up process takes several months.

Hello!
|
^^^ I've read several places including here that cars will make it to dealers in March 2009...plus the info about total number of cars they can produce each day, plus I'm #1 at the dealer...I really felt late March or early April I'd have the Camaro...I'll keep hoping and praying...it's got me this far!!

Great info Scott, Thank You.
As far as when we all get our car... I really don't think there is any reason to expect different. We have been told for months that the date might be sometime in Dec. which made no sense initially. Sitting on our orders for 2 months is what worried me the most. It just sounds to me like they realize there are a lot of concerns with people who might want to change a car they have never seen in person. And setting a date in stone that early, doesn't make sense. That is just how I see it though. |

I think I pretty much have mine locked down...but still good news just in case.
And as far as waiting.... It will give me more time to get more money saved up and more time to private sell my truck instead of trading it in. |
