St. Louis auto show pics

Hello,

Here are shots from the St. Louis auto show. The blue is an LT I believe and the black is the one with all of the extra options added to it. I will add more photos as I resize them..

Nope, and I tried

They were given strict instrunctions from Scott himself not to let anyone sit in them. I talked to Mike from GM (Scott would know him). Really nice guy and he really enjoyed talking about them to everyone

Nice pics!

And good gravy, what size wheels did they put on the BLACK? The brake rotor looks tiny!

Forgot to add this one... They wanted to open the trunk, but I guess they didn't have the keys, so the guy went through the back seat and out the trunk to use the inside release..

Seriously? They won't let you sit in them? This is really disturbing. With Dodge's current deals I'm slightly tempted to buy a challenger and I figured being able to sit in a Camaro would ease my fears and give me the mental fortitude to stick with the Camaro. Now I will be sitting in the Challenger and not the Camaro. This is really upsetting for me.

Again they're not letting people sit in the cars because they don't want people forming opinions about the low quality non-production materials.

However this brings up questions like why aren't they using production-quality materials for the interior this late in the game, why do other cars have their act together about this while the camaro doesn't, why some auto shows are letting people sit in the camaro, etc.

I understand the why, I just figured that these were production intent cars.

OK -- everybody repeat in Unison so I don't have to post this again......

"...we do not allow you to sit in several of the Camaros you see at shows because the interior is not finished..... Door panels, for instance -- LOOK like production intent door panels - and I.P.s LOOK like production intent - but in reality we had not 'grained' the tools that make some of the interior trim -- that's the LAST thing that's done to the tool prior to regular production.......we actually 'spray' them with a material that LOOKS like production finish - but it's not soft -- it's hard -- and it rubs off very easily.

Sooooooooo -- if we WERE to let you all sit in them - and the finish started to wear off -- there would be outrage both on and off the internet -- things like "Wow - what a P.O.S. -- "

Sooooooooooooo---------the question: Do you want us to put cars at all shows -- even tho you can't sit in them -

or

Do you want us to leave them out of the show?

And for what it's worth - the Challenger is IN production - that's why they're open..........

There are a handful of Camaros out there (such as the Red SS/RS at NAIAS) that have finished interiors......we're going to get them into shows ASAP.

Tidbit: The Blue LT showed up with a rather large dent in the front fender -- from someone pushing a stanchion into it at the last show.........we were able to have 'dent doctor' take care of it.

Wheels on the "Camaro Black" are 21 inches -- and will be available thru your local Chevy Dealer -- it's up to you to etch the chrome and paint black if you so wish......
