Unhappy My poor car :(

I was parked at Queen's University at around 8:30pm-9pm, finishing up my assignment to hand in (yes on a saturday night lol) and came back outside at around 10:30-11pm to find out someone threw a brick at my windshield leaving a large crack, and passenger door keyed all the way to the code....It sucks that there are some low life envious people out there!

Quick question to those who may know, should I go with my insurance? will my premium go up? how much would it cost to replace the windshield and fix the passenger door paint?

Thanks guys

What a lack of f*ckin respect. I am really sorry to hear that I hate vandalism I have been victim to it many times as well. I wouldn't bother with insurances. Deductible is probably half the price of the damage, then your premium will go up and God forbid you need to claim a real accident you'll never get a good price on insurance again. That really blows.

That's so horrible to hear .
Toronto is messed now of days , the other day i was downtown picking up my friend and this guy just bangs into my while he is parking ( keep in mind I am in the car ) .
It was nothing epic but still pushed my car enough to still feel it .
He just parked and looked and started to walk off .
I got out of my car and was like HEY!!
He looked at me then yelled "Its downtown , live with it !" then just kept walking .
All I wanted was the guy to say sorry .
I took a look at the back of my car and he did not even back up after, his front plate was still sitting up against my rear bumper .
Luckly I was only in my Cavalier not my Camaro I would have killed him .

I had someone hit my ram the other day pulling out of what was not even a parking spot, this is 11 at night and i chased him down two blocks on foot before he hit a main road and peeled away. I live half a block from a cinagogue and when they have a busy night they dont care where they park. If i ever see his red mazda again im putting sugar in the gas tank. Sorry to hear about yours that is worse....and as for the guy that hit your cavalier i would have slashed his tires and lit his car on fire.

People have no common sense these days, i used to think 2012 was a load but the way people are getting i see it happening. Civilazition is simply gonna crumble under the stupidity of the world.

That sucks Adam...........I got keyed coming back from the first C5Fest in Georgia and I went thru' my insurance. My rates never changed.........it is under your deductible not your collision. But I am also old and decrepit with no other claims. Also they may ask for a police report. Sorry to hear about it.

Any chance the area you parked in was under the watchful eye of a security camera? A lot of our Universities have common areas that are under surveillance these days.

WOW man bummer. Inssurance is prob the best way to fix it, but your rates probably will go up. I guess with a window its gonna be close to 2 G to fix.
So many people these days have no respect OP property or them selves, very sad state.

And... its a comprehensive claim... unavoidable and no other parties involved. it ususally wont raise your rates because you had nothing to do with it. You need to weigh you deductible -vs- cost. I'd go through insurance.

Example: I had a piece of steel hit my car with 300 miles on it. took out one tire and scratched the front. $1300 to repair. My deductible is $100. No brainer and my rates didnt change a cent.

unfortunately we live in a world where some people are envious of people that work for what they have and have no problem showing their jealousy.i have had this happen to me 2 times in the past.
