HELP! NEED ADVICE!

So let me start by explaining the situation. I placed an order for a trunk mat, heritage grille and the mounting hardware for the bowtie from GMPartsHouse.com. I ordered from them one other time and everything went great.

So I placed my order with GMPartsHouse.com and it shipped a few days later in two packages. The first package was my trunk mat and the other was the heritage grille and mounting hardware. The two packages shipped out at 3:30 P.M. on May 18th and quickly made their first stop. They checked in at Boyertown, PA at 12:09 A.M. via USPS. The tracking information said they would arrive in 2-9 days and although the tracking information may update while they traveled it was not a normal function of the USPS tracker. So when the tracking information haden't updated in a few days I assumed it was normal.

Jumping ahead, 7 business days later, my first package arrives and it's my trunk mat. Since they were shipped in two packages, when only the one showed up I just figured the other would be along soon. Depending on what date you start counting from, Thursday (day 7/8) and Friday (day 8/9) pass with no package. Again to give them the benefit of the doubt I figured they still have another day, so it should arrive Tuesday as it was Memorial Day weekend. The weekend comes and goes along with Tuesday (day 9/10) and still no package.

At this point I decide I had better start taking action so I email Gene from GMPartsHouse.com. He quickly responds a couple of hours later. The email I received said that I should give it a couple of extra days due to the holiday, and that it was no longer their problem since they shipped it out. It went on to say that I needed to get ahold of USPS to locate the package.

So now it's time for the next step, getting ahold of a HUMAN on the USPS hotline. Once I finally found a human to talk to I explained the situation to her and gave her the package information. After searching for awhile she tells me that there is no tacking information for that package but she would continue to look and call me back. A couple of hours pass with no phone call so I decide to call her instead. Once I get her on the phone she gives me the usual spiel about how she was just about to call me and that she has more information for me. At this point I'm just happy they found it and then she breaks the news to me. She found that the package, it haden't even left Boyertown, PA but when she called Boyertown they had no idea where the package was and couldn't find it. Her advice was that I wait one to two more weeks and if I still haden't received it to go to my local postal office and give them a description of the package to better assist them in finding it.

So here I am, no package and no idea where it is. I'm getting no help from the vendor or USPS. So if you were in my shoes what would you do? Where do I go from here? Its a heritage grille and we all know what it's worth, am I just out that money? Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I'm at a loss at this point. Sorry for the long story but I wanted to make sure all the information was out there. Thanks again.

TMoneySS (Taylor)

P.S.

In no way is this the fault of GMPartsHouse. The previous package I ordered arrived quickly and their customer service was great. If I had to do it all over I would order from them again.

Doesn't sound like they are looking very hard, I'd call Boyertown directly and speak to management there.

Taylor.....can we assume that you made the purchase with a credit card?? if so, contact them, and dispute the charge. That puts the ball back in GMParts court. Over the years I have needed to do that and my card was always credited. The fact that GMparts told you it nit their problem is BS, untill you get the product, its still their responcability to their customer....YOU. Its just another reason, when it comes to packages, I HATE the USPS....in fact, I have NOT ordered things on the net for that very reason...I try to go with either UPS or FedEx. At least you can track their packages WHEREEVER they are, and at everystop.

I worked for ground/smartpost who ships for USPS. I can tell you it's very possible they lost or destroyed( ran over dropped off belt etc) your package and just didn't realize. The way people handle packages thee are brutal. Honestly, once fedex does find the package, if they find it, it may be 3-4 weeks plus before your notified. Sometimes shipping information get ripped off the box and there's no way to identify who it came from or where it needs to go. The only way to remedy this is get a good description of the box and have USPS call the hub in that area and have them search for it, which could take forever. It's also possible some retarded hub worker loaded it to the wrong truck, it's been shipped to a hub far away from you, and nobody has bothered to scan the box. Tracking info would t update until the box hits the next hub..which could be a week or two depending on distance..

Mistakes happen, if they make it right, give them a benefit of the doubt ask for a a rebate or coupon off future purchases..

Some postal worker is selling it right now on ebay. Not surprised at all.

But the vendor should have gotten Delivery Confirmation AND insurance on that, so its on them.

it doesn't matter who ships it. they all lose stuff. we shipped a $500 camera to a repair shop and it never got there. We did by insurance. it took like 6weeks before we got the money.

I appreciate the advice. If the vendor doesn't chime in here, then I think I will be sending another email. If the vendor is willing to make things right then I have no problem with them. At this point I doubt they will be of any help at all, but I'm still giving them a chance. Also I'm going to keeping calling USPS so that they look alittle harder, and hopefully being persistent gets me somewhere. Thanks gain for the help and any additional help to come.

I insist on UPS or fed ex. Granted mistakes can always happen, we know their tracking systems are way more user friendly.

Hindsights 50-50. If I had an option, id rather have lost the mat instead lol. See, ups at least insures automatically $100 per package. Usps I'm not sure. Us mail is bankrupt anyway.

I bought my heritage grill from the dealer, and its the one time I thank god I did.... I usally only buy on the internet, but took the grill out at the dealership parts dept and it was cracked, so I gave it back to them and told them to order me a new one and I needed it before camaro fest II and the next day it was there...

I wont order from them thats for sure. And I had planned on ordering an io interior trim kit. Not now! I didn't even know us mail delivered large unusual packages. Think about the size of their little trucks.
