3.91 diff and axle swap
Hey folks,
I just completed the install of the 3.9 11LE differential, axles, new hubs, and back half of the 1LE Driveshaft in my 2011 2LT. I used the information on this forum to assist with the install. The one thing I had not seen in my searches on this forum is that you have to loosen the UCA, trailing arm, and toe link on both sides to get the new hub bolts in the new hubs that are required to run the V8 axles on a V6. The 1LE outer CV joints are more robust (wider diameter) than the SS or V6 joints and are a PITA to reinstall. If you do not loosen the suspension components on both sides you will not be able to torque the hub bolts properly. Everything I had read on the site and in the manuals was to loosen or remove suspension bolts on one side only. That side being the drivers. That approach works fine on non 1LE (or ZL1, I’m guessing) vehicles. Hope this helps anyone else who attempts this swap. Chris |

I’m in the middle of the swap right now I didnt know that. I’m taking it all apart to do TA bushing so it works out.

He has a V6 and I think he had to use the back half of the drive shaft because the V6 has different bolts/pattern?
