My thoughts about the ZL1 when it comes out

I have no information but just believe and think all the following could happen

1.) The ZL1 will be able to come in an automatic(GM will sell more cars.. simple as that)
2.) Magnetic Ride could be an option... its only 1700 for it on the GS corvette.
3.) The steering wheel wont change but maybe they will sub the bowtie for Camaro on the wheel. (I Love the new steering wheel)
4.) Sunroof could be an option
5.)I think in the end the horsepower will be over 560 for the ZL1... that way it can beat gt500 and be the top dog over cts-v
6.)I think a few colors will be offered exclusive to the ZL because its the top dog.(maybe jetstream blue, crystal red metallic, maybe a metallic black, possibly a sunrise yellow like bumblebee!)
7.) I do not think they will offer a navigation... GM feels pretty good about onstar and with so many smart phones these days navigation seems a bit expensive.
8.)Suede will be an option with I think the standard interior being leather(no way they offer cloth I dont think)
9.)cross drilled rotors could be an option like on the vette.
10.)even the dual mode exhaust could be an option allowing the base price of a ZL to be reasonable...

Overall I think that the ZL will be somewhat REASONABLE... no one is going to spend 50,000+ for a car like this when they could easily get a vette for that kind of money... I think the base ZL could be around 45,000 stripped with a little extra getting all the goodies. Chevy wants to sell them so they arent going to go crazy with the price. I dont think that it will get over 55,000 at all though.... my guess with price is 45,000-52,000.what do you all think?

45,000???? ARE YOU ON CRACK?! LMFAO.

but seriously though, a base gt500.. STARTS AT 48,645.
http://bp2.ford.com/2011-Ford-Mustang#page=/Models/

think more like 48,000-55,000.

shit, dont be surprised when dealers mark up these ones and expect prices up to 60,000. as for auto, i am hoping for it. but IF we are talking FULLY LOADED... as in SUEDE, DUAL MODE EXHAUST, SUNROOF ( if they even offer it), and the brakes...

you are looking atleast ATLEAST.. 55,000-60,000 BEFORE taxes. lmfao

and then all the peeps who can't afford to maintain the car or keep it, will see their babies on autotrader.com and WE will get a great deal at their expense because a poor sap didn't balance his checkbook.

I've gone through the specs on this car over and over. And the more times I look at, the higher the numbers go up in my head. GM has done a real nice job putting a "Complete" package together. If you try to buy a European car with power level and suspension and everything else that goes with it, similar to ZL1, you're talking about $85K - $90K. So, my feeling is, the base will be around $49,970 plus delivery charges plus the options.

Don't say that too loud or it will be.. I'm hoping for the 45K

Those who go for dealer mark up are fools.. I say we boycott all the dealers who get greedy and add there markup just to teach them a lesson !! They will lower there prices, or we can wait a few months !!

gm always is higher priced then their ford counterparts , look at 60,000 and that's a bargain in my books. Look at what your getting in this car.

I think the only way for it to truly compete with the GT500 is to be competitive in their pricing. I'm going to go with the same price as the GT500 or a tad less

I think GM will sell for 45 to 48, but you will need to watch out for the dealer markups. GM sets the price to dealers, dealers set the price to us. Get ready for another "crappy dealer" thread.

As like a few of the convertibles they put out to sell befor they went on the market that sold super high, I kinda wonder when they do that for the zl1 how much ppl will pay to have the first ones from ebay or what ever, do you think someone would pay 500K or more for it?

I remember when the ZR1 'vettes came out. My local dealer added a $50K dealer markup with a smile on his face. Now they can't sell them discounted. I wish I was in the states right now just to taunt the SOB!

There are dealers that will do that with the ZL1, but I think some other dealers are going to take care of their Camaro5 brothers. I guess we'll see?
