Borla exhaust

Does anybody have the Borla s type or ATAK exhaust installed on their vehicle. If so what HP gains have you seen and would you recommend it.

Borla headers, Borla exhaust, CAI and a professional tune brought my 2SS to around 451hp at the rear wheel, as I remember. Borla sound is da' bomb, too.

Good to know. I didnt think bolt ons like headers, exhaust, intake void your warranty but what about tuning your vehicle.

Great, GREAT..deep sound from the borla. Wouldn't trade it for anything...However your gains will come from the headers, hi flow cats and the tune. Not so much the exhaust..you might see 5hp.

Many venders here have reported they aren't seeing many gains from the stock H pipe to after market H or X pipes. The gains will be in getting rid of those stupid trash can mufflers. To be safe, I would say 5. You might get lucky and get all the way up to 10hp.

Bolt on won't void your warrant...however, once you tune the vehicle and essentially influencing the power train, MOST...not all..MOST dealerships, will not honor any power train failure. You will need a tune if you get headers because it will throw codes and your engine light will come...and stay on. Some members on this forum have gotten very lucky, but if you have tranny issues and a GM rep has to be contacted, my guess is you will be going out of pocket.

It all depends on what you believe is worth it..I believe the M6 tranny only runs about 1k to replace. Now if you have an auto..yikes

You can always go cat back, and do headers after 3 years. I cannot wait that long...

I have the Borla S...my tuner commented on how well the Borla exhaust flows. There was only about a +3-4rwhp difference with the cutouts open vs closed. He stated generally they see about a 10rwhp difference between open and closed. Guess it speaks to the well engineered design of the Borla. The sound is awesome too...good deep bass tone.

I just purchased my 2010 2SS RS and I'm about to upgrade my exhaust with Borla. I've heard nothing but Excellent reviews and the sound is the best (IMO). Exhaust, including headers, and the CIA will not void your warranty. However, the headers will cause throw codes and cause your check engine light to come on. It's nothing serious but your O2 sensors are the cause. Tuning the vehicle may or may not void your warranty as mentioned above. I have talked with several GM guys and most of the time they will fix the problem once but if it continues it's becomes your problem. I'm still on the fence with the tuner and a cam. If there is something serious going to happen to the motor the chances are greater after your warranty is expired anyways.

I love my Borla S type... deep thraoty growl and a nice pop n gurgle when the revs start dropping... huge improvment over stock

Borla ATAK is what you need. There is no sound like it!

Turn your volume and bass up!

I installed the Borla ATAK cat-backs a couple weekends ago. Not only is it a huge gain in what you hear, but you save a good amount of weight as well and it is easy to install even when using jacks. The hardest part was getting the stock off mine since I have ground effects. I am hugely satisfied with it.

I also have the ATAK catback n i love it!. If i had to do it again and buy exhaust for my car i would buy the same exhaust! I couldnt be happier with the way that my car sounds. Its like day and night over the stock. As to horsepower im not sure. Well if it did get any it was not noticeble from what i can tell because the OEM exhaust was good but just too quiet!
