Question about injen CAI

I am about to order Injen CAI and im getting the option to add a heat shield and a hydro shield. What are the benefits of these?

Hydro shield is a prefilter and it protects the engine from hydro lock. A heat shield is well a shield that protects the intake from heat.

heat shield is just that a shield from your engine. A heat shield is amust along with hydroshield if going injen route since injen cold intake filter go all the way down your engine bay.

Wheres the best place to buy it? I was lookin online and alot of places don't include the heat shield or make it optional so it gets confusing when comparing prices.

Heat shield isn't needed... Heat rises... lol.

OP, you'll always be getting the coldest Ambient air with the Injen CAI.
Hydroshield I would highly recommend though.

the heat shield come with almost all intake and short ram version for injen. I think hydro shield come with long tube injen right? maybe someone who purchased the cold air long tubr version can chime in.

I bought mine from AutoAnything... came with a free hydroshield. I think you can contact Apex Chase for the Injen as well. if i remember correctly, he had offered me a deal... wasn't bad either.

If you are talking about heat sheild... are you talking about Injen's SHORT ram intake? That would be the only reason to get a heat sheild i think... As I have said, heat rises, and with the CAI, it's taking air from the bottom... you won't be sucking in engine bay warm air.

Yes. The Injen CAI has an optional hydro-shield. It does not have a heat shield.

The short ram Injen intake comes with a heat shield and no hydro-shield.

Yes, short ram intakes all have heatshields... since it's helpful. Yeah, I have the injen CAI, no need for heat shields =D Hydroshields DONT come with it, but is a must for CAI.

so company like roto fab, air raid, aem, injen should all bring their cost down and offer open filter without a heat shield?

Heat rise but where do they go once the hood is closed? Im sure you can run a intake without a heat shield but I rather use one like how its intended to be used to keep the temp down.

If you get the long tube Injen it goes down toward the ground/wheel well where there will be cooler air. The short ram injen goes in the same spot as stock and you would want a heat shield for that.
