Assuming the start on time in march 16. Sorry for the thumbs down It looks to me like a quastion mark , know I see its not FAF Last edited by FAF; 02-15-2009 at 11:27 PM. Reason: error on thumbs down symbol |

this has been covered a lot but ill try and explain the best as possible.
First they have to ramp up production meaning they arent just going to be cranking out X number of camaros a day. Second, in order to ensure quality ramp up could be anywhere from a couple of weeks to several weeks, we just dont know. Third, what GM doesnt want to do is fly through all of the pre-orders and be dumping camaros out onto lots like most of the cars now. meaning they arent just going to build those pre orders as fast as humanly possibly. What does all of this mean guessing is almost impossible. numbers thrown around however seem to indicate an ability when fully ramped up on one shift something like 300-350 a day as a best guess |

What's with the thumbs down for our Oshawa plant? It has the highest quality for all the GM plants.

order Tracking

Is there any web site from the plant that you can track your order, base on the six letter code the dealer gave me? without having to be calling the dealer |

yeah there's no way they'll pump 11k out in a month. They'll be lucky to do it in 6.

Yeah not really. It's not like people are lining up to buy cars and GM isn't producing them fast enough. And it's easy to make rice grinders :P

They aren't making 300 a day. Right now they are making about 40 a day. It'll be around start of May at least before they reach full production capabilities and that's assuming they don't run into any complications. Also in your 11k (actually up to 12k now) figure you are not taking into account the V6 showroom car that each dealer will get and there are over 6k dealers so you're actually looking at 18k cars.

This is the same case in manufacturing.. it will take them a month or 2 (possibly 3?) to get up to full production speed... plus they aren't going to mass produce and have tons of cars just sitting on dealer lots like they have in the past. That is part of what has gotten them into trouble... over producing.
