Injen SRI to Roto-Fab?
Would it be worthwhile to switch to the Roto-Fab from the Injen short ram? I've been reading all kinds of good reviews about the Roto lately; it seems like everyone loves theirs. From all the pics, it looks like the Roto seals better. On my Injen, there is a gap near the from fender by the radiator. Also, there are slits in the top of the box, and almost all of it is made of metal. I haven't had any problems w/the Injen, but I like the exposed filter look of the Roto-Fab. Soundwise, would they be similar?
I was also looking at the Vararam, but I don't know if that's ever gonna pan out. I've yet to see ANY dyno numbers, just a lot of hearsay.

The front gap, at least on the Roto-fab, is designed that way to let in the cool air from the stock duct area.

This is the gap I'm talking about (see pic). The Roto-Fab doesn't seem to have that. Also, I wonder how much hot air from the engine bay is getting sucked into those slots on top of the box. Just wondering about some of this stuff, because in the Jannetty shootout, the temp climb for the Roto was 4 degrees (same as stock box) while on the Injen it was 9 degrees. However, this was from the V8 tests.

Also performance I dont think there is a significant difference which to me would be the only reason to switch...I like my injen but thats just me. |

Rotofab design seems to have the leading edge of the wall right up to the front of the car but no hot air seems to get in(?)

Here is a look at how the Roto-fab intake system seals to the hood. Our design actually uses the hood as the lid. By doing so, we maximize the area around the filter while maintaining all of the advantages of a lid.

Do you like the performance of the Injen SRI? Is that the problem, or is it merely cosmetic?

Performance seems OK, although with the mods I have at this point, it's hard to tell what's doing what. I didn't have a before/after dyno when I got the Injen so it's hard to say definitively. I've seen lots of shining reviews of the Roto-Fab lately, and I do like the look of it. I'm also waiting to see how the Vararam turns out.
