This is the first I have heard of "Introductory Pricing". Is it MSRP or less?

Intro pricing is the pricing posted on this website. The MSRP numbers we have been using all along. Thats why we have been saying you need to preorder to lock in (price protection)that price.Kinda makes it sound like the prices may go up after launch.

lock in pricing?
So to clear this up as long as you already placed a pre-order your price is locked in?

This definitely makes it sound like they're planning on raising the prices later on which I think would be a mistake. |

This worries me, since I might wait for the HUD and parking assist to come out... I hope the price doesn't skyrocket :(

Selling the first cars to enthusiasts @ MSRP is the easy sell. Selling the rest of the production run to regular everyday people @ MSRP is going to be a heck of a lot more difficult, especially if MSRP goes up. Just as an example, I saw an ad this weekend from a local Dodge dealership...ALL 2009 Dodge Challengers - $4k off MSRP - including SRT8 and RT models. Compare that to last year and the easy selling to the Mopar nuts of the SRT8 models at prices over MSRP. Those of us that don't buy into the pre-ordering will likely end up paying less for our cars due to incentives from GM and the dealers. |

Introductory pricing? What tha????
I mean this car was touted as being direct competition with the Mustang in price. It's already more expensive, and now there is more and more talk of current pricing being only introductory and for pre sold orders?? There is just way too much unknown on all this, especially with this car supposedly hitting the lots in a month or two. Now if the price goes up $500 or so but they add HUD or some other cool toys, fine. But if they keep everything the same and simply raise the price it'll back fire big time. The economy is REALLY screwed up right now. I hope these things even sell enough to continue being made at this point and GM can stay in business to keep making them. |

A raise in MSRP would be accompanied by a raise in invoice. Therefore, the lowest price they'd be able to go is still higher than it would be if GM doesn't raise the price.

I've been saying it in a few threads now:
PLACE YOUR ORDER BY 3/14 TO LOCK IN THESE PRICES! They will honor that price when ever the car is delivered! |
