Got my AAC Lighting Installed!
First off let me say Thank You to AAC for the fast processing and shipping. I would also like to thank them for making such awsome products.
Now to the task at hand. I install was overall very easy. I do however wish I had either a band saw or a better than cheapo dremel. Taking the lens off the fog lights took longer than removing the bumper. You actually have to cut the lens off. The headlights were a different story all together. I did the backing at 220 degrees for 15 minutes. It wasn't enough. In all I put each light back in the oven 4 times at 5 minute intervals per the instructions and finally got the lens off. Just a note the lenses suck. I will say make it easy on yourself and get the car off the ground, take off the wheels and wheel liner then take the bumper off. It is much easier than just taking the three screw out and folding the wheel liner back. The instructions are very well detailed and very specific. They even sent a CD with their product with the step-by-step instructions and videos of the install. Get what you need ahead of time. Clear outdoor Silicone and have either epoxy or super glue on hand as well. i went with epoxy. The instructions do not tell you where to wire the lights to so i wired mine to my running lights so that I could have them on without the headlight.' The footwell lighting is awesome. I combined it will the LED overhead Amber lighting and with the IOM interior it looks amazing. Pics Below. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Looks awesome. Did you get the dual color halos or just red? If they're dual I can hook you up with the wiring diagram and specs so you can have them on a single switch.
Also, and just a side note really. I talked to a bunch of people who did the DIY install. Having the oven set to 235 and cook for 15 min works wonders. Only had to reheat them once each. |

Nice!
I've heard getting the headlights open is a PITA but doable. The guy that did mine said that most people would be scared because there is a bunch of cracking sound and you'll think you're breaking the light but you aren't. The only other thing I would've recommended is that you should've gone ahead and stepped up to some HID projectors while you had it open. The projectors are 100x better than just the HID kit. What color of HID bulbs did you go with? 8000k or 6000k?

Go with HID projectors. I've had both and the projectors are way better and only cost a little more. The bad this is that you have to open you headlights but since yours have already been open it will probably be alot easier next time.
Go though this thread and you can see the difference and as most stuff it's even better in person. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120440

I opted for HIDs but not projectors. The HIDs look and work great and keep the retro look.

By doing the retrofit I was able to keep the retro look as well....at least IMO they still retro. The HID bulbs are definately easier to install. But I can tell you now that I have HID projectors it is hands down one of the best cosmetic mods I've done.

When you sealed your head light back together, how long did you let the silicone cure?
