GM PP Exhaust Upgrade w/Ground Effects
My 2010 SS has the GM PP exhaust upgrade. It also has the ground effects package. I am concerned about the end of the exhaust not coming out to the edge or extending beyond the square ports of the rear diffusor. It looks as though there should be a tip on there, but the dealership says there aren't any tips for this PP exhaust upgrade. I'm worried about burning, melting or discoloring the ports and/or diffusor. Can someone who also has these two options installed tell me if there should be any tips or not? Should I have tips installed from someone other than GM?

Welcome to the forums! I have the GFX, but stock exhaust so I can't answer your question, but I'll give you a bump so someone that does might be able to answer your question.

I installed the MBRP tips for my GFX...they look purdy!
They used a 1 1/2" to 3" coupling to make the connection. |

I like those.....I was thinking of the retangular shape to match the ports. My pipe is 2 1/2" so I would need a 2 1/2" x 3" coupling. How much too short were your pipes? I'm about 3" to 4" from the outer edge.
Any other suggestions out there? Last edited by Wildman!; 02-03-2011 at 11:08 PM. |

Take it to a muffler shop to have it done. I would suggest you have them bolt everything together not welded. That will give you room to adjust the tips to your liking. Let them do the math on the actual cuts etc.

I have the GMPP exhaust upgrade and the GFX and I do not have tips on. The exhaust extends right to the mid section of the metal exhaust bezel which I painted to match the GFX.

Put some MBRP square tips on three weeks ago and the chrome job on the tips I got, well SUCK! Rusting bad.. I have a suggestion for MBRP... POWDER COAT!!!! I have a flowmaster 3 inch exhaust and have loosened up entire system to get these tips to center in the factory ground effects. I love to work on hotrods, My three year restoration of my 73 charger proves such. I love a challenge and love to modify! Well I haven't given up on these tips but, I have tried everything.. modified factory rubber hangers, and even as a last attempt used hose clamps to manipulate the mufflers.. ugh! Its time I guess to put some black mesh to hide these rusty off centered eye sores... I will jack up my car one last time and try to correct them, then its time to hide them... powder coating these pieces of crap is on the menu... Or maybe I am just being anal.... NAaaaa.. They suk...
