burnout with a Manual

Have seen videos and cars at the track do burnouts with car with a manual. When the burnout starts the car doesn't move looks like the front brakes are locked. If you start a burnout in a car and hit the brakes will the power override the brakes on the back tires?

Also M6 Guys use a Line Lock.

I am running a SJM Line lock kit in my car. When activated, it just holds the front brakes and let the rear brakes release. Then a bunch of smoke starts to pour out from the rear tires, as they scream for me to stop.

Do the burnout on 2nd gear, push the brake just enough to hold the car (let it inch forward)till you start smoking the rears then fully engage the brake. If you push the brake to hard before you get the burnout going the car will just stall out. Line lock definitely helps.

Your talking about brake jobs not burnouts. I like doing burnouts without brake. That shows what a real car is made of. Just about any car will do a brake job. neither of which do anything to prove power at all.

edit: do to bad wording

whaaaaaat, burnouts are used to prove power!?! i didnt know that.

OP, just do as the others here have stated. do your burnouts in 2nd gear and a line lock does help but not necessary though it can help you from stalling and looking foolish at the track. GOOD LUCK!!

I have a size 12 Foot. I hold the brake with the left side of my right foot and roll my foot to the right to give it gas (Making sure to keep enough pressure on the brake pedal), give it gas until the wheels start to spin. I once the tires are heated, I slowly release the pressure from the brake to roll through the burnout..

line lock ... they are fun..

1st gear hold the button in and let off the clutch while applying gas about a 1/4 throttle should do it.. when your ready just let go of the button...

takes little practice but once you get the hang of it its easy smeazy

I use it at the track or on the streets when I'm in a giddy mood..LOL

You use it to control your car from moving forward but you can get a little sideways drift going on when broiling rubber off...

Otherwise just bring the revs up a little and let the clutch out while stomping on the gas... should burn them easily enough...

Lots of people don't know how do do burnouts to be honest, its takes a little practice to look like a pro...hahahaha

Sorry I missed the sarcastic smiley. I don't really believe in any of it unless you have slicks and are staring down the 1320.

well, that i agree with as well. too many people with regular street tires overdo it at the track trying to do massive burnouts as if being able to spin tires = powerful car.
