Talking Future 5th Gen Camaro Owner

Hi name is Tim and just registered. So, figured Id get started early. I currently have a 1969 Camaro X11, but wifey said i have to stop putting more and more money into it as I just bought a house and will be getting stationed in Alabama in about 2 weeks. BUT, i said no way I will get out of camaros all together, so she gave me the green light to get a new camaro that wont need to be worked on weekly (come on who can own a camaro new or old without working on it). So with that now on the plans, im looking to get a black on black 1ss or 2ss. I cant relay decide if I want 1ss or 2ss. Anyone got opinions, i.e. wish I would have got the 2SS instead of 1SS or vice versa. Also anyone know/have a good deal with that criteria please send me a PM. Thanks

Well hope to soon be adding a picture to this post.

I think the 2ss is the way to go personally (I didn't get it because well I'm in Texas and black leather gets Hot!), I got a 1ss and am now working on getting the options from the 2ss that I wanted right now and it's a good amount of things:

Bluetooth
HUD
Interior Trim
Aux Gage Pack (not standard with 2ss I believe, but it might be!)
Steering Wheel Audio Controls

Hope this helps.

Helps a lot. Still making notes of all the big changes from a 2SS and 1SS..going over all the factory options that can be put into one of these. This will be the last car..well atleast for the next 10yrs then I retire and I will buy another 69 Camaro

The difference between the 1SS and the 2SS really is mostly creature/visual differences. As far as performance, they are identical.

The 2SS offers HUD, leather seats, the additional gauges, and of course the bluetooth.

The RS package is an addon that you can get for any of the Camaro models except the LS (2010-2011).

Honestly, the only thing I wish I had gotten was the leather seats....but I'm happy with my 1SS...

That is exactly why I went with the 2SS/RS, I didn't want any regrets.

Get the car with HUD...that way you can see how fast you are going as you peer through the windshield at the laser gun pointed at you!

Great thoughts. Well I found a 2SS with all the bells and whistles. Trying to get out the door for $37k..Not been in the new market for awhile..Is that a reasonable price for it?

Here is what I was offered and yet to reply. Wanted to see what people with actual purchase history.

That sticker is within $300 of mine and I got mine for 3000 below MSRP. Of course I bought mine in the dead of winter in NH, so it's not like they had anybody else looking at Camaros at the time.
