Worst cars on the road list

Looks like Hannah Elliot is up to her old tricks, you remember Hannah from Forbes ragazine who says the v6 camaro was to slow at 6.7sec 0-60 times to make the quickest V6 list. Now she forms a new list of worst American cars. Where is her credibility?

To determine our list of the worst-made cars on the road, we started with the lowest-rated vehicles from six reliability and performance studies conducted this year by Consumer Reports.
And that's all I needed to read to call total BS.

Haha, so? Just because it's a Benz doesn't mean it automatically gets the golden stamp of approval. Most German engineered cars are great for the first 3 or 4 years, but after that, they'll suffer electrical issues a lot of the time. Moreso than domestic or imported makes. Why do you think most Benzs and Bimmers are leased?

Odds are, that awesome 4th gen in your sig still has working power windows. A Benz or a 3-series of the same era? Nuh-uh.

Every time I see any article from Consumer Reports my blood boils. And then the media that picks this garbage up and makes it news.

This "unbiased" magazine is anything but.

They clearly have some sort of vendetta against the Big Three. Although recently they have turned Ford into their darling. Probably because Ford didn't take any bailout money. I think it's most likely because the Big Three are UAW represented and the rest of the industry isn't.

Even the much improved and better looking GM lineup (including our awesome Camaros) cant get a pound of value from IR.

However the way that IR does their reporting is so skewed and vague...who really knows where these "ratings" come from. They say it's from their subscribers...but even if that were true, if their subscribers read the magazine and then buy the recommended product...aren't they even more likely to recommend the same product?

They say they don't take advertising dollars...but did you know they take donations? They have a list in different issues. Makes you wonder who is donating and who they represent?

They shouldn't be called unbiased...they shouldn't be called Consumer Reports.

They should be called IMPORT Reports...

I agree with most of the list...

The Nitro, the Dakota, the T/C minivan, the Smart Car, and the Aveo are all JUNK!

The Escalade, the Tahoe and the Benz just made the list b/c they have a high cost of ownership... NO SHIT. The benz is easy $100K, the Escalade is probably upper $60K (its base model) and the Tahoe Hybrid is expensive and the long term costs are

The Jeep... well its a freakin Jeep... If you're a Jeep person, you LOVE them... if youre not, then...

Not sure what their beef is with the Colorado but I have heard NOTHING good about the Titan.

Like I said, this article seems pretty spot on to me...

If I see anything to do with autos and consumer reports magazine, I completely discount it.

The best way to take a family of 6 on long driving vacations in performance and luxury, nothing beats my Escalade ESV. Consumer Reports? who care. The only thing I care about is that GM and the likes will not stopping making vehicles I want to buy because of these opinions...

COMPLETELY AGREE!!!!!! Consumer reports are the biggest Con Artists in the review industry. Working in the technology sector previously they were wrong about nearly EVERYTHING they reviewed.

Its Consumer Reports, isn't this the magazine that says the Impala and Crown Vic are the best buys?

I would think the opposite. Personally, I still have a 1995 e36 M3 and 2 other 1990's 3 series (mom and sister) with working power windows. I know more about BMWs than domestics and I have owned 40+ cars. Domestic quality vs import quality 10 + years ago, hands down import head and shoulders above. These days, I would say domestic is a whole lot better. MB and BMWs are often leased because they cost a ton to just buy and they always have great lease terms. You are implying people lease them because they are crap after 3 -4 years. You are wrong.
