Problems with CGM - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I just got a call from my dealer the other day with some bad news. He said that his management had just received notice that the CGM paint would not be available for the first few weeks of production. Anyone out there got any info on what's going on and what that means for me (aside from the obvious delay)?

Also, I'm new to the forum and would like to understand how I find out what priority my order is. I've looked in the forums, but don't understand half the terms. Any info would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site. You would need to ask your dealer to find out what priority you are. Your dealer is the only one that can tell you that. There are lots of things to catch up on. Take your time and feel free to ask questions. That's why we are here for. More importantly than priority you need to ask your dealer how many total allocations they have and what number you are in line and also what are the orders that are in front of you (V6 or V8).

Regarding CGM, if you search on here there is a bunch of information. It is delayed. Depending on where you are in the line mentioned above, you might have to make a decision on whether you change your color or give up your place in line until CGM is ready. I hope this helps.

the short answer on CGM is that they have to finish making the Impalas ordered in the other dark gray before they can change the paint over to CGM

Yep, not much else to say about CGM cept they are hoping to be making the switch in April I believe.

My "estimated build date" for CGM is April 6th....just fyi. So, a mid May to late May delivery might be in line. Again, estimated. But, I'm getting some other stuff for my 2SS/RS and won't take delivery until June.

I just got an email with the same info....

Originally I wanted White. Then I got an email stating that it wouldn't be available until the end of summer...at best. So I decided on CGM and now this. What's next? No SS????
