given best news possible tonite...!!!

I might be the first guy in my city to drive the 2010 Camaro!!!! I got a partime gig as a bartender, and tonite i was bartending a charity dinner banquet, the sales manager of the GM dealer next to the Chevy dealer i work at was there tonite, I told him I ordered one and have my order number, and HE told ME that he's getting a 2010 Camaro dropped off on Monday March16!
We spoke about it for about a half hour, he's not getting it for test-drives or to sit in the showroom for display even, it's going to a Raddison hotel in town for training purposes for ALL the GM/Chevy dealers in my city!!! He said I can drive it to the hotel!!! Doesn't know if it's going to be a 6 or 8 cyl, doesn't yet know anything about it, other than that it's arriving next monday and has to be detailed and arrive at the hotel by 3pm!!! MANY photos will be taken, as will a detailed description of the feel of driving it if this really ends up happening. I'm not gonna be able to sleep for over a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Told him he's alot cooler than the salespeople at the chevy dealer i work in the service department at and that i wish it woulda been possible for me to get the car from him, but being a GM/Pontiac dealer, that's unfortuanatley impossible.

Good luck, I hope you get the opportunity to drive the car. If you get the chance try to get some unique pictures others have not taken, like the glove box, home link, good undercarriage photos.

Take plenty of pics if you can, from what i noticed, all of the training cars were 2SS, so im expecting eitehr a 2SS or a 2LT, obviously it might not be but im leaning more towards it being a 2SS

You know, I remember this same type of thing going on with the GT500's when they first began production. People were all excited about being one of the first people to drive/have one like that somehow made them better than the ten's of thousands of people that will be driving the very same car a few months down the road.

To me, it's like boarding a Southwest airlines flight and getting a seat in the front versus one in the back of the plane. You might be closer to the front, but you're going to get to your destination at the same time as everyone else on the plane. Now imagine if you paid extra $$ just to sit in the front. Wouldn't you feel stupid for doing so?

1st class sits in the front, so...no. But you head on back to the toilet row if you want

Southwest does not offer first class. BTW, there is a toilet in the front of most planes, too.

Off-topic, but 1st class on an airplane today is a joke anyway. You pay all that money for a little wider seat and a couple of free drinks on most domestic flights. Not worth the upgrade cost if you ask me.

yeah well the guy in the front gets off the plane first, so "technically" the person in the front doesn't have to wait an extra 5 - 10 minutes for everyone to get their bags and stuff from the storage, so he doesn't really get to the destination at the same time, but earlier.

Sounds like somebody on this thread is having a bad day or doesn't have a Camaro on order.

Hope you enjoy driving that new Camaro to the hotel! I'm sure there's a hell of alot of people - namely about 10,000 that would love to be in your shoes. Who wouldn't want to be one of the first to drive a car like the new Camaro! Looking forward to your pix..

Let's take your logic and run with it for a moment. Have you ordered yet? Many of these guys have been on this site for years, and a lot of us for months. Many of us ordered back in October through now.

We are on the same plane, but if you buy your ticket after the cutoff date we will get to our destination cheaper than you. It has been stated numerous time those who preorder are price protected on their purchase.

There are many dealers who have jacked up the price for this car. I have a feeling the price increase will not be anything close to what the cars will cost on the dealer lots. If you want discounted rates, wait a year. The discount will only save you around 2k. Due to this site I was able to get rid of my first dealer who was gouging and go with a reputable dealership.

For the ones who do not share your bleak view, let them enjoy their moment.
