New to the board and thinking about ordering mine - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hello,
I just thought i would stop in and run this by some of you. I will be retiring from the Army in late May and was thinking about ordering my 1st Camaro from a dealer in Shreveport, LA. They told me that the ones customers have ordered wouldn't be in till late may or june. I was thinking that would be perfect timing. They said i needed $500 to place an order. I was also going to trade my 07 Tahoe LTZ in on an SS2? i think. I'm not sure the difference between the SS1 or SS2. Any info on the TAP shift? Im thinking of going with the silver metalic any info would be great

first of all congrats. and welcome. the 1ss doesnt have leather, 4 pack gauges and missing 9 speaker premiun sound. that deposit is great. make sure you get a solid price in writing. 2ss is great make sure you get the rs! goodluck with your order and the silver looks great

Thanks, i found that page after i had posted..... I will hate to part with the 07 Tahoe, but i still have my 2500 quadcab Dmax. I just hope i get a pretty fair trade on the Tahoe. Its paid off so my payments on the camaro should be 200-250, i'm thinking.

Order NOW. I got an email that said any orders after March 11 may not be at the pre-order price. You can change the order until it goes to production. the '2' version gets you the creature comforts. Good Luck.

Thank you for your service to the country! You need to order quickly to get the "introductory pricing guarantee". IMO you need to check with several dealers within a reasonable distance to get the best price. Some charge over MSRP and others will charge MSRP or even below if it is a decent dealership. Do your homework (and I'm sure you will after an army career) and you should be okay with pricing and ordering. Try to find a dealer with initial allocation remaining. It may be difficult but they are out there. There are several threads on the forum regarding pricing, dealers and the meaning of consensus and allocation. Camaro Scotty is a highly regarded dealer and source of sound information and mainstay on this forum. You will find him posting on this forum. Additionally IMO you deserve the camaro as a gift from yourself and first class treatment in purchasing it from anyone involved if not only for your contributions to this country. Accept nothing less.

Welcome my friend! I am in the same position as you. I was going to order one but the dealership told me that when the person cancelled another was in front of me. I am not to sure on my exact color yet. I would like something darker gray that the Cyber Gray. Does anyone out there know if the 2011 will have some color changes. I will be 2-Toneing and what something closer to charcoal gray.
