Nitto or Mickey

So I'm still on the fence bout which to buy. The NT05r or the ET street R, or radial street ll.
It's going on a 18" wheel.
I also have looked at the new Hoosier 325/45/18 Dr
I won't be at the track all the time but I also don't daily drive the car. That being said, I want a tire that will stick to the track well and also not be too soft for road use.
I'm ready for the information I am about to be flooded with!

I have ran both on the track and street on several cars. Hp anywhere from 450-850. Both do well on the strip, found the NT05r's liked lower pressures. Both suck in a heavy rain and curvy road.
In the end I ordered another set of MT's yesterday 305/35/18 for mixed use on my turbo car. Mostly street driven, take it to the track about 5-6 times a year.

I'm looking into the Hoosier waiting on some replies to see if they fit. They seem like a serious drag "radial". I looks to me like it they wanted to make a slick and did the absolute bare minimum to get it passed as that. I would run MT if you're going to drive it on the street.

I have M/T ET Street II's on my third gen firebird street/strip car. I agree that they do suck in the rain but in dry conditions are very nice tires.

My car won't touch rain so that isn't really an issue for me.
From previous thread research I think I can concur that the mickeys are softer than the 05r and that results in what turbolsx mentioned, that the Nitto has to be at a lower pressure cause it's harder.
I like the Hoosiers cause they're so meaty and look super intimidating. But yes, they do look like a slick that just makes DOT specs with those few dotted lines

Look at tire size options from both. I used the Nittos when MT did not offer the size I needed. You will usually find Nittos on the corvettes in the 19"&20" size. Most fourth gen F-body guys run the MT's

Curious to see how the MT S/S work. Those are due to be out this winter.

M/Ts work better but they will wear fast if you drive them on the street.

I DD on NT05Rs, been 1.57 on them, but will run a different rim/tire for my big track outings this fall.
