Exhaust clamp tension?

I tightened my exhaust clamps on my flow master exhaust until the clamp ends bottomed out. Did I do the right thing? Or did I overtighten. The insturctions said nothing about that if I remeber right.

Damn! Did you use an impact or something! I didn't get anywhere near bottoming them out and mine is nice and tight. I would think they might have sent you the wrong size clamps. Either that or I need to seriously consider Wheaties.

Ideally, you want them to bottom out on the spacer. That's why the spacer is shaped the way it is, and the clamps curved like they are. They are made to stretch when tightened, and are fully tightened when the clamp ends bottom out in the "reaction block", or the spacer in the middle. You did it correctly.
