Cost Effective Shipping?

Hey guys, im going to be ordering an Intake down from the states but was wonderning what people are doing in terms of shipping to cut costs. My gf uses a US shipping address and picks it up in person. But im not sure how well that will work for an intake and how much ill have to pay to bring it over the boarder.

Whats the best method?

Anyone know any Canadian vendors who would be able to get the Vararam V6 intake?
Maybe SPi?

I ordered my Cold Air Inductions CAI through SPI and picked it up there. I probably paid more doing it this way than ordering it from the states but I was in a hurry.

If you ship one to your GF's US address you have 2 options. Install it over there and don't declare it or leave it in the box, declare it and pay the 13% HST tax at the border.

HTH

BTW, the guys at SPI told me they can get almost anything that's out there for our cars.

That's the best way. Show up at the border with invoice and pay the tax and your golden. Have it shipped UPS to CDN and they will charge you brokerage fee's.

The cheapest way to have it shipped to you is by USPS. However, given what is currently going on with Canada Post, who knows how long it might take to get to you.

We have gone to great lengths to reduce the cost of getting parts across the border. 99% of our parts come from the states, and we've got this pretty dialed in. Give us a call and we'll get you set up. We have our own broker so there are never any $urpri$e$.

Agreed - Going with a reputable local supplier who's not out to lunch on their pricing will pay off in the long run. On something like an intake you're going to save little to nothing after shipping and brokerage.

WoW I'm glad I stumbled across this thread. Its nice to see a local vendor offering popular US based CAI. Now there's no guessing how much extra you'll have to pay in fees.

Shifted Perceptions.......I've only had my SS 4 days so I first have to check with my GM dealer to see how they feel about after-market CAI, BUT do you offer INJEN brand CAI?
