corsa to stainless works exhaust compared.

I have a corsa exhaust any body have one and switched to stainless works exhaust. Wondered your opinion comparing the two. thinking of a change. love the sound of stainless works. worried about drone? is it to loud under normal cruising? thanks

Stainlessworks will be much more muscular. Drone is a slight bi product of aggressive should. Corsa will be more european sounding. One consideration is that Stainless works has more clamps and uses hanger clamps..which requires more attention at install, but provides more adjustability.

I would agree that it has a more aggressive muscle car sound but I have never heard myself or had a customer complain of drone with the SW Retro Chambered car back. Spot on regarding the rest.

I've had both.. Had the Stainless Works Retro Chambered on an L99 & the Corsa on an LS3..

The Retro Chambered is louder & has a deep low-pitched sound.. More of that muscle car sound the Camaro should have... It sounds Great from idle to wot! I did not experience any drone and I know what drone is! Cruising on the highway at 80 mph is not a problem unlike the Flowmaster 44's on the Challenger l had.. It's not loud where it's going to annoy your neighbors or anything, not with stock manifolds & cats anyway... The installation is a bit of a pita due to all the pieces it comes in and being 3 inch.. The alignment it critical to get right or it will hit something when driving and going over bumps, being the clearance is pretty tight!

The Corsa is raspy or high-pitched and slightly louder at idle and cruise than stock.. It does wake up considerably at wot.. There's absolutely no drone! Not even with a CAI, shorty headers and high flow cats.. It's still not that loud at idle and cruise with those mods, but will WAKE THE DEAD at wot!! Installation was easy... Not as many pieces, only 2.5 inch and more clearance around the exhaust!

I got the Corsa after hearing one with headers at wot, thinking I've gotta have that sound!! and worrying about the Retro Chambered being too loud on a daily driver when going to headers, which l didn't have on the L99 when l had it...

That being said, I feel the Retro Chambered TRUMPS the Corsa at idle and cruise!! Wot the Corsa gets the edge... But l like the Corsa rasp at wot, it sounds sooo wicked! But at idle or cruise it just doesn't sound right...

Thanks for the insight. maybe I should be clearer. I already have the corsa on mine with headers, high flow cats, and supercharger. your right corsa at wot throttle sounds great, but idle and cruise doesn't sound the best. When I was in indy for camaro fest at the autocross event a guy had a stainless works and it sounded so bad.... I thought I got to have it. just can't be to loud normal driving where its hard to talk and don't want the drone. I might buy it, and hold on to the corsa incase I want to go back to it.

Sorry l can't help with how the Stainless Works will sound with your mods on the interior, as My L99 was stock when it was installed... I often wish I didn't sell the Stainless Works, so I could have tried it on this LS3 with some mods.... Funny thing, two people who've heard My Camaro's Corsa exhaust said it sounds like My Scarab boat at idle...LOL!

Scarab boat oh man! lol, one guy asked me at the gas station if I had a v-6 with the corsa exhaust sys, lol. ok I thought is he messing with me or did he really think that. I got over it.....I run into all kinds of charactors daily. my car gets a lot of attention. I've learned to like what I have and don't care what others think. I do my own thing..... don't care what others think. if anything the stainless works exhaust would just be a nice change....keeps my interest in the car by doing different mods gradually.

My wife who is sensitive to drone, stated she didn't notice any with the Stainless Works on the L99, but I was worried it would be a bit much once the mods started.. She Loves the Corsa because there's no drone and likes it at wot also.. She refused to ride in the Challenger I had before the Camaro's, because of the drone.. It got to me on long rides also!

It is pretty aggressive but we have many customers running that set up. What is "too loud" is different from person to person so trying to ride in a car that has it first is a good idea.

I was very apprehensive about purchasing the Stainless Works Retro Chambered because I thought it was going to be too loud and aggressive. However, I am so glad I bought this kit. It is awesome! No drone, you will hear it in the cabin at start up, and it screams at WOT. Normal driving is not an issue for me. I can still listen to music and carry on a conversation with the passenger. I think the sound level is perfect. This kit is a best of both worlds system for me. Quiet on the inside, nasty on the outside.

Consider this, I was apprehensive about the aggressiveness and sound level of this cat back on my stock LS3. Now, after driving with the catback for a year and a half or so, I'm adding headers in the spring. I can't wait. It'll be a bit louder, but I do not anticipate it being unbearable.

When you're ready to purchase, look no further than Apex Chase. Great service, price and super fast shipping!
