How to remove factory amp

I don't want to break anything so, how do I remove the carpet that's over the amp? I assume I need to take off the plastic tab under the carpet insert off. But on the top of trunk there is a plastic tab/screw that I can't seem to get loose. Are there any details on removing this?

From what I remember ( been about a year since I've done this) but there are plastic screw clips that hold your net in place... Remove the net... Remove the plastic clips... Can be done by hand... I think you'll need to remove the weather stripping.... Then remove the big peice of plastic on the back of your trunk... Then I believe that there was 1 or 2 plastic screw tabs... Should be able to get them by hand too. But you can use a big flat head... After that just pull the carpet out... It's pretty easy.... Its carpet... Would be hard to mess it up... Just go out and get to pulling. You'll see what all is holding it in...not hard at all.

The net anchors just unscrew. Pull hard on the plastic piece, and it will come out. Pull the side carpet hard, and the plastic rivet things will pop out. The amp is held in with one nut, and two tabs that slide into two slots towards the driver's side.

You can also make life easier by not removing the small round plastic plugs that hold the carpet. Once you've removed all threaded caps you can side the carpet in such a way the plugs will fit through the carpet's opening for them. When you put the carpet back in just slide the tabs back through first and then commence screwing the other back in.

Yeah, just give it a mighty tug and it should pop off. The rest is pretty easy to do

1. Remove trunk carpet
2. Remove big black thing that protects the battery/spare tire area
3. Unscrew net holder things
4. Pull up on the rear plastic trunk lining
5. Remove plastic screw thing that holds the carpet along the bottom of the trunk
6. Pull on the top plastic tab thing to loosen up the carpeting.
7. Have fun with amp
