Help!

I just bought a new 2011 LS Camaro. V6. The paddle shifters are not read by the computer. It shifts up but never shifts down. Already have the GM of General Motors involved but has anyone else had this problem?

If you're brand new. You are under warranty, i'm sure the dealership will be glad to get this remedied for you.

I see this is your first post so first of all welcome. And thats a new one to me. Are you saying it doesnt shif down when you down shift, manually, with the paddels or when you're slowing down the computer doesnt down shift automatically on its own?

Hi thanks! I was so excited to finally have this car! But the dealership has had it longer than I have at this point. When I put the car into manual (with paddle shifts) it will shift up with the paddles, just not down. The car physically shifts down but the computer does not read it. Making it unusable. They are telling me the axle is calibrated differently and that nothing is wrong with the car. But I want the paddle shifters to function properly...

Welcome & Enjoy the ride.
Not trying to be a smart ass but you do know one side is for upshifts and the other for downshifts? Just sayin.

i know nothing about the paddle shifters. But could someone with an automatic chime in here? I know on malibu's and such there are two parts of the paddle shifter. Push and pull.

Get an other dealer opinion. This can't be OK.

That's good they're giving you a new car. I was thinkking maybe your speed was too high to allow the car to follow your commands to downshift.
