Bow Ties?

before i attempt to take off the Bowties. Im looking to insert black vinyl to black them out. Do i have to take off the whole bowtie, or is there a way to remove the plastic top part cover?

Why not apply the vinyl with the bowtie still on the car?

The best way my friend is to cut out a piece of black vinyl, and starting from the center of the tie, press it on to it with an up and down motion with your finger or thumb, being sure to push out the air. Then run your finger round the creases to get a snug fit. Finally use a sharp scalpel blade (preferably a pointed craft blade) and run it carefully around the edge. Then once you have peeled off the excess, run your thumb around the edge again to seal it down. Hope this helps.
