How many?

How many chances do I have to give my dealer to fix the spoiler issue I have before calling GM customer service? I am on number 2 now and my car is worse off now than when I brought it in. Bad Luck as some others.

I do not even want my car anymore. This all started two hours from delivery, going on a month and a half now and there is no camaro in my garage.

Hack mechanic first time and hack body man now. This blows!

Call now, dont wait!
Waiting just prolongs the inevitable, that you have to call GM to get anything done.

I can definitely look into things for you! We certainly apologize for the inconveniences you may be experiencing. If you could please provide me with your first and last name, address, phone number, VIN, mileage and involved dealership, I will be glad to set up a case with GM customer service and contact your dealership for more information.

Spoiler issue is from the first install of my dealer installed spoiler 45 or so days ago. Hack install by a very poor mechanic. Found many issues two hours after I bought the car (major leak being one of many items of items wrong with the install.). Mind you, this is the first 2013 to be delievered in RI. I ordered it.

Fast forward to dropping it off at the body shop last week to fix the spoiler issues. The punch list of 10 or so items I needed fixing were fixed.
I needed a new trunk lid, stripes, paint, right and left trim panels that were drilled into, and much more all from the bad spoiler install.

This past Monday PM I get the "your car is ready call" from the body shop.
I get to my car and within 30 seconds of looking I see that the new stripes are kocked to one side, new lid has at least five inside out dimples showing through the new paint, bare metal around the hinges, paint drippings on the carpet, bodyshop scum everywhere, swirles in the paint, ect, ect, ect.

Needless to say I left without my first new car ever. Now they have to rip it apart again. How many chances do they get? This will be number three.

Tim

It sounds like a hack body shop for sure. Are they doing it at the dealership or bringing the car to an outside shop? Whatever the case, I would demand that they bring it to a different shop and that it be perfect when you get it back.

If it were me, the second visit you described would have been enough. Like POWERFREAK said, demand a different body shop or a new car. If they drilled into the quarters while installing the spoiler, that is a lot of paint blending to do.
Remain calm and civil, it will go a long way in the end. But be firm in your demands.
I would give 'another' body shop ONE MORE CHANCE...

Got the call again today. We shall see how it comes out this time. Same GM bodyshop. This has to be the last time for this problem...

Sorry for bad experience. I had the same thing on a new 1988 Fiero Formula. Hood had a six inch shadow in paint where the facotry repaired the fiberglass hood but didn't properly prime it before painting. Of course I discovered the blemish after delivery. The selling dealer ruined the car's hood trying to correct it. Painted it twice. Took it to the best Pontiac paint shop in town and just more of the same. Lesson learned was not to trust advise from the dealer unless you personally know for sure.

Just a quick update.

Dealers suck and I will be out $300.00 to have a real detailer finish fixing the final issues left over from the body shop. Thanks for butchering my car hack mechanic.
Should have installed the spoiler myself!
