Camaro Diet ?
How can I shave some weight from my V6, slightly < 3828lbs? It is still going to be a passenger car, or I would take all other seats out, but I can't. Any suggestions?

It's a V6 Camaro. I'm not knocking on the V6 at all--great engine. but seriously? Shaving weight? Unless this things is going to be set up to be a competition SCCA racer, tearing out things for everday driving in hopes of winning a stoplight race by dropping 100 lbs isn't worth it, IMHO. Add slightly more weight in the form of performance parts.

Take out the spare tire if you have one, eventually you're gunna have to spend to drop the weight....

Unless there is a necessity to set an NHRA super stock record, it would be pointless to start removing things. Enjoy the car. If you didn't know the number, would it really be bothering you?
Would driving a 3756 lb car be really different from driving a 3872 lb car? No. Get the radio settings perfected and enjoy the car. |
