Clay before shr?

Do I need to clay the vehicle prior to swirl and haze remover?

Yes! You need to remove contaminants in the clear coat or you will just grind them in.

Do the baggie test to be sure but if you have never clayed the car, you need to!

Yep... any good paint correction should start with claying to get all the bonded contamination off. The only way you'd skip clay is if you do the baggie test and don't feel anything.

The end results, like with anything are going to be entirely dependent on the prep work.

Thanx all, did clay to msw for my SS, all Adam's of course, but doing paint correction on a stang for my dad, was just verifying my instincts. Lots of scratches from him letting my lil sis use it and lots of purse dragging on roof and trunk.

As far as I know this has never had a true detail so I know what I'll be doing all day tomorrow.....
