Dealer opinion on my CAI and Exhaust....

So I took my car in today for a free oil change. The service consultant loved my CAI, CAI. He called over another Service consultant and the Service Manger to look at it as they were writing it up for the oil change (even another customer commented on it as they were writing it up). They all loved it, and said "they appreciated that it was enclosed".

Anyway, I asked the Service Manager about the CAI and my MRT 2.0 exhaust and the impact on my warranty. He said “installing a CAI or Cat-back (or axel-back) exhaust would have NO IMPACT on my powertrain warranty”. He said the warranty would be voided on my intake and exhaust and any codes that might come from them, other then that, no worries (I got him to agree to sign that on paper). He also said they are specifically looking for tunes; this would instantly void my warranty.

When I was leaving he said “I love your cold air intake” and " great looking mods"!!

So now I am happy, no worries about my CAI or exhaust!!

On a side note, when I got home I realized then put in a synthetic blend, not 100% synthetic like I requested. I called the SM and he said it was a mistake on their end as it was my free one and they put in what GM recommended. He said he has no problem putting in 100% synthetic and told me to come right back. I was not able to, but will go back next Saturday for another oil change.

Sounds like you have a good service center. Hope that continues for you, as it will make life easier.

The SM signed off on my CAI and exhaust, so I am not worried about my PT warranty. That is all I care about.

The SM was very "direct" about tunes.

Yea Those guys at the airport are pretty cool. Almost sad I didnt buy there this time since I had purchased 4 cars there in the past. Guess I still had a bitter taste in my mouth from the pre-order on the Camaro back in 09.

That's very cool! I'm happy my dealer is mod friendly also they installed my Eibach Pro Kit Lowering springs and Anti Roll Kit. They also spent over 3.5 hours and wired up my LED Mirrors and they also took my fogs and installed my halo fogs just gave them the DVD to watch. They also made me a custom switch for my scanner bar. THEY ARE AWESOME! I love dealers like this who will still honor your warranty and not blame your mods for issues that aren't pertaining to your other parts that should be covered under the factory warranty.
