You're Welcome. Are you planning on taking delivery soon? My brother sent this to me as a Gift Groupon, though I'll probably arrange for deilvery for Thanksgiving.

When you take delivery, will you let me know how it is?

When you include shipping it's not that great of a deal. 1-1 1/4 pound lobsters are the bare minimum in weight. You can pick all that stuff up at a local seafood market for about $70.

Question is how big are the lobsters... muscles and crab cakes you can keep..
real Maine would have been steamers (clams) and no crab cakes...LOL

price for lobster around here is 10.99-19.99...LOL I usually order direct from Maine though at a place on the coast

Do any of you know of any good lobster substitutes for those who wish to remain Kosher? I ask this because the High Holy Days begin this week.

I know some people who love monk fish more than Lobster because of it Lobster-y flavor, although I've never eaten it myself.

As a "bottom feeder" would it be kosher?

It's not where it feeds, it's about whether it has scales and fins. Most 'fish' do, it leaves out things such as sturgeon, eel, shark and definitely molluscs. I'm not sure 'bout monk fish, but they prolly are okay; they DO have scales, right?

I checked on it. Monkfish are definitely out. Too bad.
