5388656 Hurst Pistol Shift Knob
I recently purchased this part, as I was informed that it will adapt to my Camaro. I have the 2SS/RS with Hurst Short Throw from the factory. I got this part in, and upon taking off the factory knob it looks completely different than this. Has anyone purchased any of these knobs, 5388656,5388655,5388665 etc, that have the 2 holes in the side that can help me with the installation of this product? I was informed that the Camaros that have the factory short shifter or the Billet Plus. Does anyone have a DIY or information that may help me out?

Pics may help, but the factory shifters (Hurst or standard) lack threads on the shaft.
You'll have to cut threads on the shaft if you want to use a threaded shift knob. There's a DIY out there that shows this with pics. Do a search and you'll find it. Edit: did if for you: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t+knob+threads Good luck.

that's awesome. Thank you. The one I got doesn't have threads, it has a shaft that has two large holes on the side with nothing to adapt to it due to the round shaft and this one looks like it should adapt to a flat one. Looks like I'll have to look for a different one, unless a different fix. Thank you so much for your help and search for me.

if you have a FACTORY hurst shifter in your vehicle the aftermarket stick or pistol grip handle will not work.. it only works with the aftermarket Hurst shifter
