Already in for major repair

Man, I'm pretty bummed. I've had my '11 2SS RS for exactly 4 weeks (3000 miles) and I dropped it off this morning for major repair on the transmission (6M).

For the last couple of weeks I noticed it was difficult to shift into 1st and 2nd gears. Had a "notchy" feel and there was a whine in the lower gears. It has also felt sluggish in those gears too. :(

Took it in last Friday morning and the service tech test drove it and brought straight back and said bring it back Monday, there's definitely something wrong with the transmission. He said they's need to pull it, open it up and find out exactly what the problem is but he suspected the synchros and maybe the linkage.

The service advisor just called me and said that the technician went to order the parts and said he found a GM tech advisory/bulletin for a new design on the 1st and 2nd gears for my car and so he ordered all the parts to update it. They're going to have my car until at least Friday.

I'm not a mechanic at all. Do any of you know of this issue and does this even make sense?

Thanks

Seems to be "common" in the M6's. There are quite a few threads in the transmission section. So far mine feels good. The 2-3 shift is a little knotchy, but haven't grinded yet (knock on wood)

it sounds like just synchros to me not linkage, they should be able to fix it perfectly. probably some dirt from factory in the tranny. or scratched bearings during setup
