Dodge- What the hell were you thinking?!?!?!

So, my car is in the shop after being rear ended while sitting at a red light. When I drop it off the rental car lady says I can have a Dodge Challenger or a 300M, obviously I said give me the Challenger. WTH?!?! This thing is a piece of crap! It's like driving around an SUV!!! I'm pretty sure the 300M would have had better handling and felt smaller than this thing. Why would anyone buy this after driving a Camaro??? I'll give it to them, it looks nice but my god is it a horrible drive.

2011 v6. I wish it was exaggeration. I love the way the challenger looks! Hell, I debated taking a look at getting one before the camaro came out. Soooooo glad I didn't.

It's his OPINION that it's a piece of crap. Let's see how many will chime in and say his OPINION is wrong. LMFAO

I agree with his opinion. The base engine Challenger is just too weak for such as huge/heavy car. The Camaro is heavy as well but the 312hp V6 and stock suspension are more than capable in masking that weight. The SRT8 is heavy as well but my opinion on it would be less unkind vs. the base Challenger.

Exactly....I'm not trying to say the top of the line SRT8 is a pile...I wouldn't know, haven't been in one. However as far as v6 vs v6 go.....wow...no contest.

I've driven both the RT and the SRT8..... the SRT8 is no slouch, a bit of a boat.... but sounds damn good and will move. Especially on the higher trim levels, the challenger has some really nice features. One thing I really liked was how the sunroof was.... no issues with my head hitting the roof

Keep in mind too, it's a rental, probably base of base and hopefully it will get the 8 speed auto for the 13 model year which should help performance. I would also bet it had the 2.65 rear instead of the Also there is a sport package available which gives the V6 an upgraded suspension, 20 inch wheels/tires, upgraded brakes and the 3.06 rear end. For 12 that package is even better because it (and the R/T super track pak) get the SRTs new adaptive suspension and paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.

Weightwise, there is little difference between a Challenger and Camaro V6, MAYBE 100 pounds.

But it's how they carry that weight. The Challenger just feels big because it's built on a sedan platform.
I have to agree with the OP. I drove all 3 and to be honest I could probably be just as happy with a Mustang as I am with my Camaro. But the Challenger was a distant 3rd.

Isn't the Zeta platform on which the Camaro is based off of a full-size sedan platform?
