No. At least not initially.

I'm almost certain the dealer I bought my SS from will have 0 allocation for this car. They don't sell many Camaros. That means I'll be forced to negotiate with the other mark-up loving dealerships around here.

My understanding is that dealers will receive initial allocations based upon their overall Chevrolet sales (50%) and Camaro sales (50%). This will definitely be biased towards the the bigger volume sales dealerships. Eventually all dealers will receive ZL1 allocations but the first few months might be tough for smaller volume dealers.

My understand is that based on the above formula some dealerships will receive a ZL1 allocation of 0 for the 2012 model year, and will not receive a non zero allocation for ZL1s until the 2013 model year.

my dealer had 3 ZR1's and like 5 Z06 on the lot when I bought my car. so Im 100% sure they'll be selling ZL1's.

Don't pay a markup, you don't have to.

Call Becky at Rodgers or possibly one of our other sponsors and buy there. Get it courtesy delivered to your local dealer.

Seriously, you can get it for MSRP.

Here is a link to her feedback page here on C5, just to make it easy.

I do believe that for the first few months of production some smaller lower volume dealers will NOT get allocations for ZL1's. In time all dealers will receive an allocation but like GoldenBear said, it might not be until July or after and the 2013 models are available.

The only problem is that Becky's list is probably 200 long and her allocation won't likely be able to meet her initial demand. Never hurts to ask though.

Just atm there are alot more questions then there are answers. As far as the allocations we should have a pretty good idea by the 24th of this month as to where your dealer stands as far as the allocations.

MSRP of this car is going to be a deciding factor for many would be buyers
of the ZL1. If the price starts to approach around 60k to get it out the door, some will be forced to wait a bit longer. Thus freeing up those orders to those who can afford it at the present time. But eventually supplies of this car will catch up to the demand. At which point
we may even start to see some of them at the smaller dealers as well. GM
has stated that they will make as many as needed to cover the demand.

I wish I had a crystal ball and knew what the 2013's will have that will be
differant then the 2012's. But at this point of waiting for the Z28 for like since the concept camaro gen 5, I am now impatiant.

All the pieces to the puzzle will be falling into place very soon, and will have a very clear picture of where GM is heading with this car.

PS: please keep this car affordable

I agree with this 100%.
Lets look at this theoretically though..just in theory or hypothetically even..

IF said dealership has a list of 200 people waiting on ZL1....and "Tom's Chevy Dealership" has a list that is 200 long... and "fbodfathers dealership" has a list of 400 long....
Would that not be a problem for GM to try and make theyre customer; the dealership happy,#1, and #2, wouldnt GM want to sell these three dealerships
800 cars? Looks like a GOOD problem or GOOD business to be in to me.
To me anway... if all three of these dealerships made 0 sales in the last year...
Would not GM want to supply these dealerships with just 1 or 2 Zl1's?

Or would GM simply say.... ahhhh....we can't meet that supply demand as we have other dealships around the country that have already submitted 5,000 orders for from us for ZL1's but we are only going to honor ONLY those with the best prior sales and the best relationship they have with us?
So.. we will keep the assembly line rolling and maybe by the time the 2013 rolls out we will have met MOST of the demand...
But the ones wanting 2012 are SOL without a paddle?

This has to be the first time in the history of chevrolet this has ever happened.
I quite doubt it...

People wanting a 2012 and not a 2013 you are either screwed because the ZL1 is 70k or you are screwed because your dealership has been bad in the past....and No 2012 ZL1 for you nor a 2013..
hahahahahaha!

Chill people...
Chevy knows what they are doing...
The ones that want a 2012 ZL1 and can affort it.. Will have one...
and so goes the same for the 2013 model....
just relax.....
I think its starting to be a little funny is all..

Who said that I'd pay a mark-up? As far as Becky goes, she sounds like a great person to deal with, but I'm not going 2000 miles out of my way to acquire a vehicle that I should be able to buy at one of my 7 local Chevy dealerships. If that's an unreasonable expectation, then I'll have to do without.

You don't have to go anywhere to order through Becky. You can order through Becky and have the vehicle delivered directly from the Oshawa plant to a local dealer near you. It's called a courtesy delivery. It is done quite frequently. The local dealer usually charges $300-$400 to perform the paperwork.

Not ALL GM dealers are Corvette certified. I.E. trained tech and sales. The ZL1 will be allocated on sales %'s and nothing else. Dealers who are not hitting their quotas in sales and Camaro sales in general will see lower numbers if not any. Supply and demand will dictate potential markup (addendums) If you don't want to pay it then you either wait in line or wait until production catches up with demand. Personally I don't see this car ever getting up to general production numbers. Keeping it limited will insure profits and resale values
