I can't get over 20MPG on my 2011 1LT-anyone else?

I drive my 1LT mostly in town, but even on highway I can't get over 20MPG out of this car. Only mod is a MRT1.0 at 1000 miles, and changed oil last month at 3500 miles with Mobil 1. I would expect that MPG on an SS, but not on a V6. Anyone else getting poor MPG, or any suggestions? Could it be a faulty factory tune?

something is definitely wrong. I get 24MPG on the highway going 70+ MPH most of the way. So you reset your MPG counter before the highway test right? Just checking...

Get it on the highway, get up to 70, put it in 6th, turn on cruise control, then reset the MPG counter. Mine runs around 28MPG+ at that point as long as it is flat. If you are under 20MPG under the same conditions, you have a problem.

Did a 2400 mile trip, avg over 25 Mpg. That was a lot of highway at 75 or 80. In city I can see around 20

Thanks Flash...I'll try that. Also will try the old fashioned way of checking MPG too.

how long are you on the highway? If you just coming off a few miles of surface roads and do a few miles of freeway, your MPG reading wont improve much. What you are seeing is your average between the 2. When you get on the fwy, reset your MPG to see your consumption on the fwy.

Do it the old fashioned way. Fill up. Odometer at 0. Drive a few hundred miles. Fill up again and take the mileage down and do the calculation.

there is nothing wrong with his car...it's his calculation and understanding of how the MPG average that has a little malfunction.

On the highway in my (cam/head/headers 431rwHP) Vette crusing at 75mph I'd get 32mpg.

Haven't paid attention to what I get in my SS. I will tomorrow.

Gotta reset that MPG calculator or it will never go up. I reset mine at every fill-up. I get 29ish on the highway 72mph cruise. I get about 19ish going to work, a combo of freeway and town.
