pretty cool.
I had this same idea a while ago, when i was trying to figure out how to put my carputer ive had in my last 3 cars into the camaro. The groove under the head unit is perfect for a retractable arm. id paint it grey so it blends in.

Not a very clean install. Looks kinda cheap to me. If you do something then do it right. If you don't have the money then save up and have it done the right way. I applaud you for your efforts but this doesnt look like your forte in customizing. Also seems like it would be hard to change heating and air conditioning settings quickly. It also looks like it would be hard to see your gauges.

It's actually not finish, I'm still working on it, that was a pre install and it's not bad at all. I am going to paint it, find a better hinge and replace the screws, and as you can see I can remove it if I need to. Also the heater and blower knobs are not hard to adjust..... Cheap, yes it is but it was my cheap project and I think it look great to me!!!!!

I don't see how that looks cheaply done. The only way anyone will see the underside and the brackets would be if they are putting their head on the seat and looking at it. I think it looks good.
